Jockey Gerald Mossé was born in France on January 3rd 1968, and had his first ride at the age of 15 on April 2nd 1983. He rode 20 winners in his first season as apprentice.
Mossé rode his first major winner in 1990, when he steered Saumarez to victory in The Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

In 1991 Mossé went to Hong Kong to ride for trainer Biancome, and the jockey went back to France two years later after riding 86 winners.
On his return to France he became first jockey for HH Aga Khan - probably the most succesful owner/jockey agreement in more than 10 years. Mossé's association with HH Aga Khan came to an end i 2002, because of the jockey's wish to dedicate more time to ride in Hong Kong and the UK. Instead he has been installed as first jockey for trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre's stable.

From 1999, as with Olivier Peslier, Gerald has been very much in demand from English trainers to ride when available in the big races. This he has done to great effect with the help of top Newmarket agent, Shippy Ellis.
